1. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the Service and respond to you. The categories below cover everything we currently collect.

1.1 Information you give us directly

  • Lead / interest form. When you submit the "Try a Free Class" or interest form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), your child's age(s) or age range (optional), which class or program you're interested in, your child's prior experience with that subject (optional), and any message you write.
  • Newsletter signup. When you subscribe to our email list, we collect your email address only.
  • Email correspondence. If you email us, we keep the contents of that message and our reply so we can support you.

1.2 Information collected automatically

  • Server logs. Our hosting provider records your IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamps when you load a page or submit a form. We use these logs only for debugging, abuse prevention, and aggregate traffic analysis.
  • Cookies. See Section 5 below.

1.3 Information we do not collect

  • We do not collect payment information on this site. If you enrol in a paid class, payment is processed by a third-party payment processor (currently Stripe); we do not see or store your card details. Your first class is always free.
  • We do not require children to register, create accounts, or submit forms directly. All sign-ups are completed by a parent or guardian.
  • We do not collect biometric, health, or location data.

2. How we use information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your interest-list submission and contact you about the classes or programs that match your child's age and your stated preferences.
  • To send you newsletters, class announcements, and program updates you have opted into. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Service, including debugging, security monitoring, and preventing abuse.
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. Period.

3. Children's privacy & COPPA

Our classes are designed for children, but our Service is intended to be used by parents and guardians. We do not direct the site at children under 13, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent, and we do not allow children to submit forms, create accounts, or post content on this website.

The U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") and equivalent laws in other jurisdictions apply to information collected directly from children under 13. Because YFS only collects information from parents — and the only child-related data we receive is optional age-range information provided by the parent — COPPA's verifiable parental consent requirement is generally not triggered at the form stage.

If we begin collecting information directly from children (for example, a student login for live classes), we will:

  • Provide clear notice and obtain verifiable parental consent before collection;
  • Limit collection to what is reasonably necessary for the activity;
  • Provide parents with the ability to review, delete, and stop further collection of their child's information.

If you believe we have collected information from or about a child in a way that does not comply with COPPA, please contact us at privacy@yourfunstudio.com and we will delete the information promptly.

4. When we share information

We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. We use a small set of vendors to operate the Service — currently a hosting provider, a database provider (MongoDB Atlas) for lead storage, and an email delivery provider for newsletters. These providers process data only on our instructions and are contractually obligated to protect it.
  • Legal compliance. We may disclose information if required by law, valid subpoena, or court order, or to prevent fraud, abuse, or a threat to safety.
  • Business transfers. If YFS is acquired or merges, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity, subject to this policy.
  • With your consent. We may share for any other purpose disclosed at the time of collection with your agreement.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Cookies & analytics

We use a minimal number of cookies and similar technologies. Specifically:

  • Strictly necessary. The site may set a small session cookie to remember form state and prevent CSRF on form submissions. These cookies are required for the form to work and expire when you close your browser.
  • Analytics (if enabled). We may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool in the future to understand aggregate traffic patterns. If we do, we will configure it to avoid identifying individual visitors and will update this section before enabling it.

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels (such as Meta or Google Ads pixels), or cross-site behavioral tracking technologies.

6. How long we keep your data

  • Lead-form records. We keep interest-list submissions until you ask us to delete them, or until 24 months of inactivity, whichever comes first.
  • Newsletter list. We keep your email on the newsletter list until you unsubscribe. Unsubscribing removes you from marketing emails but we may retain a suppression record so we don't accidentally re-add you.
  • Server logs. Typically rotated within 30 days.
  • Email correspondence. Retained as long as needed to support you and for our standard business records.

7. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:

  • Access. Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction. Ask us to fix anything inaccurate.
  • Deletion. Ask us to delete your information, subject to legal retention exceptions.
  • Opt out of marketing. Click "unsubscribe" in any email, or contact us.
  • Withdraw consent. Where we rely on your consent (for example, the newsletter), you can withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@yourfunstudio.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (typically 30–45 days).

For users in the EEA / UK

The legal bases we rely on for processing are: your consent (newsletter signup, optional fields), our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service (server logs, security), and performance of a contract (responding to your interest-list request).

For users in California

Under the CCPA/CPRA, you have the right to know, delete, correct, and limit the use of sensitive personal information. YFS does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by California law.

For users outside the United States

If you are located in a region with its own data-protection laws (for example, the EEA/UK under the GDPR, California under the CCPA/CPRA, or India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you have rights to access, correction, erasure, and grievance redressal as those laws provide. Contact us at privacy@yourfunstudio.com and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

8. How we protect information

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls on our database, and limited employee access on a need-to-know basis. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting your information occurs, we will notify you as required by law.

9. International transfers

Your Fun Studio is based in the United States. Our hosting and database providers may store and process your information in the United States, the European Economic Area, or other regions. When we transfer personal information across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms, depending on the destination and applicable law.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. If changes are material, we will notify subscribers by email and provide a reasonable notice period before the changes take effect.
